Kamakura Walking in Early Spring【from Gokurakuji to Hase】

Thank you for visiting our website. This is Yoko from iTWS japan. One day in February, I went to Kamakura, one of my favorite places, with my friends. We took the Enoden to Gokurakuji Station. I was so exciting because it was the first time for me to visit this area.

【Gokurakuji temple】
The benefits of Gokurakuji are child-rearing and illness recovery. Ninsho who was the founder of the temple developed welfare service to help poor people. He also known as a philanthropist, since he took care of older animals like horses and cows. Furthermore, he made an effort to build bridges or do roadwork. Plum blossoms were beautifully blooming in the precincts.

【Jojuin】
There is Fudo Myo-oh, the God of fire, at the temple. It’s also known as the God of matchmaking. When you set the photo of Fudo Myo-oh as your smartphone wallpaper, it will bring you love luck! This temple is also famous for its scenic beauty. You can enjoy the great view from the gate of the temple.

【Kamakura Museum of Literature】
This museum was the villa of the former marquis Maeda family. Now, the collection of literary materials associated with Kamakura is preserved. The roses in the garden are in full bloom in spring and autumn. Many people visit to enjoy them, but unfortunately, we could not see roses in February.

【Enoshima Electric Railway】
It’s one of the features of Kamakura and known for Enoden. A streetcar that runs between Kamakura and Fujisawa. It is nice to do sightseeing while taking Enoden. You can enjoy the view of the sea and seasonal flowers. There are many photo locations, so don’t miss them!

【Cafe】
After walking, we took a break at a cozy cafe. I had coffee and a piece of homemade carrot cake. There are many nice cafes that have been renovated from old houses in Kamakura. It’s fun to find those places.

【Beach】
At the end of the tour, we took a walk along the beach. I almost forgot the time when looking for Sakuragai shells while walking along the sea. It was already evening.

Well, what do you think of Kamakura tour like that? Please visit Kamakura when you come to Japan. I will take you nice places.
Thank you for reading. Have a nice week!
