Thank you for visiting our website. This is Yoko from iTWS japan. Using the flight campaign, I visited Toyama with my friends.
It was a sunny and hot day in Tokyo, but when we arrived at Toyama Airport, it was raining. We were looking forward to fresh seafood or sushi since it’s located near Sea of Japan. But the sushi restaurant we had wanted to visit was closed. Oh my gosh!
We started looking for another restaurant, and then found a sushi restaurant near the station where there was a long line of people. We could finally enjoy fresh sushi from Toyama Bay and fried white shrimp there. The fried shrimp was especially delicious. Hokuriku such as Toyama and Kanazawa is known for its white shrimp and firefly squid.
After lunch, we took a tour of Nakajima Lock on the Fugan Water Line. This is a Panama Canal-style lock gate that has been designated as an important cultural property. You can experience a “water elevator” with a difference in water level of 2.5 meters. I would like to write about this in another blog sometime.
Well, it’s time to go back to Tokyo. Time flies! Before leaving, I bought white shrimp rice crackers, dried firefly squid, and Japanese sake for my family.
It was a great day even as a day trip. But I would like to stay overnight next time!
